Azzaro Appoints Olivier Theyskens As Aristic Director

Azzaro has appointed Olivier Theyskens as the house's new Artistic Director, putting the designer at the helm of Azzaro Haute Couture, ready-to-wear, and accessories. Theyskens' Azzaro debut will take place during July's Haute Couture Fashion Week, where he will show his first collection for the Parisian house. Theyskens is the newest of several designers to lead Azzaro through its current state of positive flux, following Loris Azzaro's death in 2003 and a brand relaunch in 2017.

Since its foundation in 1967, the house of Azzaro has become a pillar of luxury men's fragrance and seductive haute couture. From Jane Birkin to Cara Delevingne, Azzaro never fails to capture the sartorial spirit of every era's It girls. The brand never strays from its aesthetic of unapologetic femininity, boasting the slinky silk gowns and intricate beading that Loris Azzaro himself pioneered throughout his life.

Armed with a cult following from stints at Rocha, Nina Ricci, and Theory, as well as his eponymous label, Theyskens' commitment to celebrating the modern woman aims to propel Azzaro further into the future. Hailed as a couture chameleon, Theyskens blends his romanticized gothic aesthetic throughout the DNA of every brand he's helmed.

"Loris Azzaro left behind a considerable, very inspiring legacy," said Theyskens. "I am excited, thrilled and honored to have the opportunity of bringing my vision to this legendary, iconoclastic house."
