Stellafest Is Fashion’s Answer To Glastonbury

2020’s biggest festival headliners have just been announced: Alicia Keys, Kelis and Brian Wilson are playing Stellafest, Stella McCartney’s digital music festival. Not only set to beat the Glasto blues, the online celebration will raise funds for the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV).

To amp up the fundraising, McCartney is partnering with Mastercard Priceless to auction off a line-up of prizes, including a virtual cooking session with Kelis; a one-on-one book club session with Alicia Keys; and a tea party with the designer, who will outfit the winner and three of their friends for the occasion.

“Artists from our community have come together to create a festival that is truly global – using technology and social media to bring the mosh pit onto your mobile,” McCartney tells British Vogue. “While I was sad not to see Dad [Paul McCartney] and all the other great performers at Glastonbury this year, we have put together an incredible line-up and are raising our voices to end violence against women, a cause more urgent now than ever.”

The artists on the Instagram main stage – Stellafest will also kickstart the new Stella McCartney TikTok account – have so far been met with a resounding stream of likes. It has been buoying for the NNEDV to watch. “More than one in three women around the world experience sexual or physical violence in their lifetime, and this violence disproportionately harms Indigenous women, Black women, and other women of colour,” says Deborah J Vagins, NNEDV president and CEO. “Making the current situation even more dire, incidents of domestic violence have only increased during the lockdowns necessitated by Covid-19. We are so grateful for Stella McCartney’s innovation and dedication to addressing this urgent crisis.”

Tune into @stellamccartney to watch Chloe x Halle, Soko and Taylor Hawkins share their musical stylings across the airwaves. More important than rocking out to your iPad, visit Priceless.com/Stellafest to donate vital funds to stop violence against women.
