Vivienne Westwood's amplifies her love for the past with her latest unisex collection is inspired by the Wallace Collection, London Daphnis and Chloe (1743) by the French Rococo painter Francois Boucher. The Greek myth written by Longus is a story of lovers raised by shepherds. Daphnis and Chloe who are abandoned at birth grow up on the island of Lesbos and fall in love with each other. Boucher heightens up the love tale with an erotic gaze when Chloe falls asleep to Daphnis pipe.

Westwood continues to follow her tradition of historical corsets inspired by Boucher's stewardesses, fusing her signature Portrait Corset, Naked Shirt and Elizabeth Top with the pastel color palette of the sky and prints of the court favorite of Louis XV in her latest collection.“The 18th century is the high point of art and culture.” Westwood says with her form fitting romantic trends.
