The First Vogue Wedding Salon Has Opened In Tokyo

For many women, picking a wedding dress can involve several trips to multiple bridal boutiques in the hope of finding the one. Now, the fashion crowd can make a single stop as the first Vogue wedding salon has opened its doors. Located in Omotesando, Tokyo, the salon is brimming with both classic wedding dresses and modern styles selected by Vogue and created by the best international designers from around the world.

“The biggest single keyword for today’s contemporary weddings is ‘diversification of values,’ said Mayumi Nakamura, creative director of Vogue Wedding, in a statement. “At a Vogue wedding salon, in addition to traditional wedding dresses, we have prepared a wide variety of more adventurous styles. These items include stunning bridal gowns from popular designer brands that will be familiar to readers of Vogue such as Alexander McQueen, Giambattista Valli, Oscar de la Renta, Sergio Rossi, and so on.”

The symmetrical space was created by award-winning architect Yuko Nagayama and incorporates influences from churches and palaces. “Modern but classic. Cool but warm. Chic but dreamy... I thought it would be a good idea to create a fantastic space by bringing together opposing elements,” said Nagayama. “This salon is going to be a special space where customers planning their wedding ceremony will encounter the dresses they will wear only on that special day. I hope it will also be the scene of beautiful memories that these customers will never forget for the rest of their lives.”

It’s not just wedding dress shopping that the salon offers up though. From picking a hair style to contemplating a make-up look and experimenting with accessories, the salon has specialist staff on hand to aid every decision. Collaborations with cake and flower designers are also offered up, as the Vogue Wedding team shares its little black dress book of stylists, photographers and videographers with brides-to-be.
