During the 10-season series, Green works for the brand for five years – the designer even made a cameo appearance to support the storyline. The real-life Polo and Ralph Lauren pieces riff on the protagonist’s office style, including suiting, mini skirts, polonecks and preppy accessories. Pops of faux leopard print pepper a largely desk-appropriate palette.
The collection will go on display in Bloomingdale’s, New York – where Green got her first fashion retail experience – on 21 and 22 September. Adding pizzazz to proceedings is a replica of Central Perk, where Rachel, Phoebe, Monica, Joey, Chandler and Ross spent more time than their own apartments. Shoppers can make a pitstop for a complimentary cup of coffee, while sitting on the fictional café’s orange sofa, before the installations travel to different Bloomingdale’s locations every two weeks.
UK fans might not be afforded the in-store Instagram opportunities, but can still purchase the Rachel Green collection, which retails from £120, online and in select stores from today.
