Luella Joins Raf At Calvin Klein

British designer Luella Bartley is set to join Raf Simons at Calvin Klein, taking on the role of head of global design at Calvin Klein Jeans. In her new role she will oversee the design of all the label's products globally, reports WWD, "to achieve one cohesive vision for the brand".

It is not known at this point how her new role at CKJ will affect her contribution to Hillier Bartley, the London-based brand she set up with long-term collaborator Katie Hillier in 2015. In January, the brand was named as one of Walpole's Brands Of Tomorrow, following which the pair told us: "We're working hard to seek new opportunities and ways of stepping outside of the traditional environment through collaborations and conversations and ways of connecting with our customer."

The announcement is a part of Calvin Klein's well-publicised re-structure, which saw Raf Simons replace Francisco Costa at the helm last year. His first collection for the house was unveiled at New York Fashion Week earlier this month, to critical acclaim. When she resumes her role, Bartley will report to Simons's right-hand-man Pieter Mulier who is creative director of Calvin Klein Inc.
