Victoria Beckham To Host Charity Fashion Show For Families Affected By Cancer

Victoria Beckham is set to stage a special fashion show in Toronto this November to benefit Canadian philanthropist Suzanne Rogers’s charities. Proceeds from ticket sales for the intimate presentation and lunch will go to Camp Ooch, an oncology centre for families affected by childhood cancer, and The Penelope Neuroblastoma Foundation, which funds brain tumour research and provides support for families affected by the illness.

“Suzanne’s charitable endeavours in bettering the lives of children around the world is inspiring, and I am delighted to be involved in the next in her series of fundraisers,” Beckham commented. The designer follows in the footsteps of Diane von Furstenberg, Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa and Zac Posen, who have previously taken part in Rogers’s 2010-founded programme “Suzanne Rogers Presents”, which has so far raised more than $3 million for charities supporting the wellbeing of young people.

Rogers framed the event as a “rare opportunity” to interact with Beckham and her “beautiful” collection. “I am so pleased that Victoria has accepted the invitation to come to Toronto and deeply appreciate her personal commitment and generosity in supporting our children’s charities,” she said. More child-focused causes will be confirmed closer to the event, which will be chaired by philanthropist Sylvia Mantella.

Beckham, who branched out into childrenswear with Target in 2017, is most commonly known for her philanthropic endeavours as a UNAIDS international goodwill ambassador. After working with charities including the Elton John AIDS Foundation, her role was formalised by the United Nations in 2014 and she has since campaigned to end mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
