Moschino Is Taking Over The Universal Studios Hollywood Backlot For Its Cruise Show

The morning after Maria Grazia Chiuri invited guests to the Palais El Badi for her Dior Cruise 2020 show, Jeremy Scott’s own Resort 2020 announcement landed in our inboxes. The Moschino designer, who was most recently spotted at the launch of his Sims-themed capsule at Coachella, saw Chiuri’s 16th-century fortress and raised her a setting engrained in the same pop culture that his brand celebrates. On June 7, Scott will stage his Moschino Resort 2020 show at the backlot of Universal Studios Hollywood.

Will guests be ferried between the Jaws attraction, complete wth moving shark, and the recreation of King Kong’s Skull Island before the presentation commences? Surely a visit to LA’s most-famous working film studio wouldn’t skip the Jurassic Park lot, where guests are sometimes sprayed by an animatronic Dilophosaurus? Few details have been shared, but Scott is no doubt scheming something spectacular. Hold on to your tram seats.

The Resort 2020 collection will aptly follow Scott’s Moschino autumn/winter 2019 line, which riffed off the theme of the consumerism encouraged by game shows. If you can't wait until June to see how the self-proclaimed “king of camp” will top his TV dinner cape, tune into Vogue's coverage of the Met Gala 2019 to see Scott's take on this year's fabulous theme.
