BFC Confirms LFW Move

The British Fashion Council has confirmed that London Fashion Week will relocate to a new home as of next February. The Store Studios at 180 The Strand - where London Fashion Week Men's currently takes place – will fulfil the BFC's ambition of "creating a fashion and cultural hub in the heart of London", it said today.

London Fashion Week moved its central show space last year from Somerset House to Brewer Street Carpark. After three seasons showing in the space, it will now amalgamate all of its fashion events to be held at The Store Studios, including the bi-annual London Fashion Weekend which has been renamed London Fashion Week Festival.

“London is a top fashion capital - we have brilliant fashion colleges, leading designers and established brands, and Londoners of course have a great sense of style," said deputy mayor for culture and creative industries, Justine Simons. "London Fashion Week and London Fashion Week Men’s have been blazing a trail on the world stage, and the brand new London Fashion Week Festival will up the game even more – cementing The Store Studios as the coolest new creative quarter in London and offering a fantastic opportunity for the public.”

The BFC said this morning that "The Store Studios holds a strategic location at the intersection of north, south, east and west London and has easy access to the river as well as to main central areas such as Covent Garden and Southbank."

It has previously played host to the Louis Vuitton Series 3 exhibition, Christopher Kane, Roksanda and Thomas Tait’s runway shows and is currently showcasing The Infinite Mix exhibition curated by the Hayward Gallery.
