The Spring 2022 Menswear Shows Are Starting Soon—Here’s What To Expect

The pandemic might still be causing problems around the world, but fashion week, as always, is back and we kick off spring 2022 with a fresh menswear season.

Despite shows predominantly still being in virtual format, and running on disjointed and sparse official schedules, there’s an abundance of exciting moments to come in menswear. Notably absent from this season is New York, as the capital of U.S. fashion has confirmed that its spring 2022 collections will be presented co-ed in September.

So grab some popcorn and take your FROW position on the sofa. Here is Vogue’s guide to everything you need to know about the spring 2022 shows in London, Milan, Paris, and Florence.

London Fashion Week: June 12 to 14

The menswear fashion season kicks off with London, albeit the co-ed schedule and presentations being predominantly digital. Over three days, expect boundary-pushing showcases from BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund winner Bethany Williams, Ahluwalia, Dilara Findikoglu, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, AV Vattev, and Olubiyi Thomas, among others, as well as fashion design graduates from the University of Westminster.

Milan Fashion Week Men’s: June 18 to 22

Milan’s men’s week returns with force this season with a hybrid schedule of digital and physical events. Expect digital showcases from notable players such as Prada, Fendi, and Ermenegildo Zegna, as well as younger labels such as Sunnei, MSGM, A-Cold-Wall, and Tokyo James. There will be live runway shows from Dolce & Gabbana and Etro, while Giorgio Armani will have a double show. Also, lest we forget, Glenn Martens’s highly anticipated genderless debut at Diesel is set to end the week on a high.

Paris Fashion Week: June 22 to 27

Despite the final schedule still being under wraps, PFW men’s is packed with moments set to delight, featuring shows from Louis Vuitton, Dior Men, Loewe, Yohji Yamamoto, and Dries Van Noten, as well as younger brands such as Wales Bonner, Rhude, Casablanca, Doublet, and Arturo Obegero. Rick Owens, on the official PFW schedule, will also continue to show in Venice, Italy. The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode site states that “formats will be specified when [the] final calendar is published,” so stay tuned for more.

Pitti Immagine, Florence: June 30 to July 2

After going digital for two consecutive seasons, Pitti Uomo returns in physical form in Florence for its 100th edition. The full schedule is still to be released, but it’s confirmed that South African designer Thebe Magugu is to guest-present his spring 2022 collection at the event, following in the footsteps of predecessors at Telfar, Sterling Ruby, and Craig Green. To ensure that it’s Covid-19 safe, there will be fewer exhibitors than usual, and all guests and staff will need proof of vaccination status.
