Jacquemus Moves To In-Season Fashion Show Model

Jacquemus is back and will be staging a runway show on June 30 as Simon Porte continues to show outside of the Paris Fashion Week calendar. The collection will be coed and immediately available for purchase after the show, capitalizing on their social media presence to garner attention around the collection. The location of the show has not been revealed but is highly anticipated considering the success and positive critical reception that the blogger-favorite brand saw after their Spring/Summer 2021 collection shown in July 2020. We do know, however, that the collection will be titled “La Montagne,” or The Mountain.

The brand released a statement saying that “this particular year has encouraged us to be true to ourselves and we wanted to share with you a fashion moment. It will present our shift to a more adaptive, modern, and flexible approach. Our goal is to maintain the momentum between our presentation and product availability. To us, this feels more relevant, more realistic. Our focus now is less seasonally specific. This collection will be available to purchase immediately following the show, with more releases to follow. True to our independent spirit, we want to embrace the challenges as well as reinvention.”

Other designers have chosen to forgo the typical fashion week structure and show their collections at alternative times, a movement that began pre-COVID and found momentum when the traditional fashion month was no longer a possibility. Though the digital fashion shows, short films and virtual reality presentations were a testament to the flexibility of the fashion industry, we can’t wait for brands to return to showing their collections in-person.
