Barbie Gets A London Style Makeover

Barbie  has called on fashionable friends to dress her for the opening of her new space at Selfridges. Her new home will feature three dolls whose brightly coloured ensembles have been created by three of London's star emerging labels, Fred Butler, Nazir Mashar and Sister By Sibling.

The dedicated Barbie department is situated on the fourth floor of Selfridges within its new Toy Shop, which opens later this week. Fans will also be able to buy collector's dolls launched throughout Barbie history.

Barbie In Fashion
"In opening a concept space for toys, there couldn't be a more perfect partner than Barbie, whose fashion credentials outstrip most of her human counterparts," said Erin Moscow, head of accessories and childrenswear at the store. "The creative starting points for the department were icons in the marketplace, and naturally Barbie was the name on everyone's lips. These one-off dolls are something truly special, and a testament to how relevant and pioneering Barbie continues to be."

Barbie has collaborated with a number of fashion houses over the years, including Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Chanel and Prada.
