L’Wren Scott Goes High Street

L´Wren Scott has teamed up with Banana Republic to launch her first high street collection. The 50-piece range - which will marry the designer's signature glamour with the US brand's relaxed, sporty aesthetic - will arrive in selected stores and online on December 5, just in time for Christmas.

"L'Wren really understands what a woman loves and wants to wear. Her knack for bringing imaginative versatility and femininity to classic design is something that immediately brought us together as creatives," said Banana Republic creative director and executive vice president of design, Simon Kneen. "We share an appreciation for genuine luxury, beautiful fabrics and unexpected details. The designs created for this collection bring a modern approach to pieces you will love forever."

The collection will feature what Scott describes as, "little perfectly fitted and beautifully made jackets", jeans adorned with peony prints and others in brocade, classic shift dresses and "gorgeous" blouses. As you'd expect from a collection landing in the midst of the festive season, there is also a focus on items designed as presents - such as clutch bags, cashmere blankets and striped berets. Prices range between $39.50 (£26.50) and $198 (£132.90). Scott admitted that she turned down many collaboration offers from other labels before deciding on Banana Republic.

"A partnership of this scale was a first for me, and I was very excited to find a true partner in Simon," she said L'Wren Scott. "Through this collection, we were able to bring our shared vision to life and the end result is a capsule we're both so proud to call our own. It beautifully combines the ultra-feminine with wearable polish and will bring a sexy confidence to our consumers."
