Dolce & Gabbana To Remake The English Man

Good news ladies: Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have revealed that they want to turn British men into "Latin lovers". The admission comes hot on the heels of the design duo's newly-opened New Bond Street flagship store, from which they hope to sex up the male population.

"I love sexy - the attitude, the shape of the jacket, a little bit of Latin lover," Dolce said. "British people are beautiful and the men love their clothes. The suits, the cut, the attitude."

But their love for our fair isle doesn't stop there. "We love English people. London is the capital of Europe and the men are so stylish," Dolce continued. "English men don't need advice from Dolce & Gabbana, we're just giving them the choice."

So what English men in particular have caught their eye? The two credit David Beckham with revolutionising menswear. "He absolutely changed the way men think about fashion," Gabbana told The Times. "Before, fashion was just for gay men. When sportsmen and straight men started wearing it, it opened things up... Beckham was very clever and very smart."

Another David also holds a special place in the designers' hearts - Gandy. "He was the perfect Dolce & Gabbana man, but English. Very dark, very masculine, very powerful. And as beautiful as Michelangelo's David: we have the statue in Florence, you have the real thing in London."
