Louis Vuitton Debuts Virgil Abloh's FW21 Collection In NYC Residency
Ever since the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2021 “Ebonics / Snake Oil / The Black Box / Mirror, Mirror” collection debuted on the runway back in January, there has been a huge amount of build-up online and IRL — even from Virgil Abloh himself who created the video Monologue 6. Now, LV has developed a pop-up residency in SoHo, New York, where the pre-launch of the FW21 collection can be seen and shopped.
For the shopping space itself, Abloh decorates the store in red and orange hues (very Space Jam if you ask us), and litters in his usual array of model-like mannequins decked in the latest LV goods. Ready-to-wear, accessories, leather goods and gifting items appear on shelves and racks that line the walls, showcasing a number of notable pieces such as the takeaway coffee cup-shaped bag, the mirrored leather LV monogram bags, a new take on the Louis Vuitton LV Trainer, and various runway pieces. One standout piece is the mirrored leather LV Monogram trench coat, while a green LV varsity jacket, a tartan kilt-like pair of culottes, and a rather special, highly decorative leather biker jacket all appear.
