The Latest Portraits From Gigi’s Ethereal Maternity Shoot Show The Model In A New Light

“33 weeks,” Gigi Hadid captioned the latest glowing photograph from her pregnancy shoot captured at the end of July. And just like that, the model, who has so far remained mum about her due date, gave her 57 million followers a strong hint that she is expecting her first child imminently. “Almost time!” asserted Ashley Graham from the comment box, while fellow fashionable names, including Tommy Hilfiger, chimed in: “Can’t wait to meet the little bundle of joy.”

While the first series of portraits showed Hadid draped in diaphanous dresses that enveloped her frame – “The brief was to create a look that looked ethereal but down-to-earth at the same time,” Grecian designer Dimitra Petsa told British Vogue of the Di Petsa dress – the latest shots show a stripped-back side to the expectant mother’s wardrobe. The 25-year-old, who was styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, with make-up by Erin Parsons, stands tall wearing unbuttoned high-waisted jeans and a white ribbed cotton cropped tank top. The resulting image, captured by photography duo Luigi and Iango, is positively arresting.

While Hadid and her partner, Zayn Malik, make the final preparations to welcome the new addition to their family, Bella Hadid has been cheering on her sister from the (virtual) sidelines. The 23-year-old catwalk star, who recently presented a VMA Award, has reposted Gigi’s shoot with various gushy comments. And Yolanda, the Hadid matriarch, captioned her own photo of her heavily pregnant daughter: “The precious cycle of life…” Whether the baby will experience its first days at the family’s Pennsylvania farm, or at Gigi and Zayn’s New York apartment remains to be seen. But the love surrounding the little one is palpable.
