Kim Kardashian Is the Queen Of Balenciaga Winter 2022

Demna‘s Balenciaga campaigns are just as lauded as its runway shows, and for Winter 2022 Kim Kardashian is leading the pack. Highlighting the “360° Collection” that debuted during Paris Fashion Week in March — a spectacle that saw Demna comment on the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, consumption, and global warming — we find looks donned by Ms. Kardashian in a surreal winter landscape. It follows on from the influencer-turned-lifestyle mogul’s catwalk debut at Balenciaga’s 51st haute couture show, “Hard Couture,” as well as previous campaigns that centered on her penchant for a selfie.

Now, through the lens of the Berlin-based photographer Daniel Roché, who was responsible for the house’s underwear and swimwear campaigns, Balenciaga Winter 2022 comes to life. Here, Kim wears look 21 from the show, a Yellow Bouquet Cycling Draped Dress in yellow and dark blue viscose jersey, as well as a matte cyan spandex Swimsuit Gown, which was look 69 — the closing ensemble that walked alongside a matching yellow piece to represent the Ukrainian flag.

Elsewhere, the Crush Bag, HD Sneaker, Swing Bag, Knife Wader, Trash Pouch, and Glove Boot all make an appearance across a cast consisting of Alexa Demie, Big Matthew, Khadim Sock, and Kim Yeon-koung, each donned in the latest and greatest from Balenciaga. The HD Sneaker is arguably the standout here (alongside the well-documented Trash Pouch), as the pair takes a sporty approach to some of the house’s previous molded slip-on efforts, adding technical touches and laces to the otherwise lightweight pair.

The Knife Wader is a great example of genderless attire, as a stiletto heel with a sharp point extends into a loose-fitting knee-high boot in menswear and womenswear looks, while pieces like the XXXL hoodie are styled in contrasting environments: “layered pieces in the hot sun, minimal clothing in the frigid cold,” per the brand. Balenciaga’s Winter 2022 collection can be seen in the campaign above and bought in-store and online now, with more pieces set to drop imminently.
