Virgil Abloh Is Back At Work At Louis Vuitton

After taking a couple of months off on the advice of doctors due to “health considerations”, Virgil Abloh has made his return to Louis Vuitton in Paris. Taking to Instagram, the founder of Off-White and artistic director of Louis Vuitton men’s shared a selfie snapped in a lift at the house’s Paris headquarters, which showed his face half-hidden by the LV logo.

In August, he explained to Vogue that he was having a hard time “bouncing back” from an overseas trip. “I was just tired, so I went to the doctor. Ultimately,” he continued, “everything is fine, but the doctor told me ‘this pace that you’ve sort of pushed your body – to fly all these miles, do all these different projects – is not good for your health.’”

Without specifying his health issues, Abloh made the decision to work from his home in Chicago. “Essentially I’m working from home for the next three months, and in large part all my marketing events I’m cancelling,” he said in September. As a result, Abloh wasn’t present at his Off-White women’s ready-to-wear show during Paris Fashion Week.

According to WWD, the designer also made an unexpected appearance at the LV flagship store on the Place Vendôme over the weekend. Abloh is expected to be present at the brand’s autumn/winter 2020 show during men’s fashion week in January.
