A Prada & Adidas Collaboration Is Coming

Prada and Adidas are to come together for a "special project" that was teased by the brands on Instagram on Thursday.

As the image shared online points to – by way of two Adidas shoe boxes placed inside a classic Prada shopping bag: one featuring the Adidas Originals logo, and the second the brand’s signature three stripes – the collection will launch with two footwear styles in December 2019 and will follow up in 2020 with performance sailing footwear under the Luna Rossa label. The limited-edition pieces will all be made by Prada in Italy.

This marks yet another foray into the fashion sector for Adidas. The German sportswear giant has been instrumental in the zeitgeist-tapping merger between fashion and sportswear, with collaborations with Stella McCartney, Rick Owens, Raf Simons and Kanye West's Yeezy line already a part of its offering.

In recent years, Prada has also leaned into the contemporary vogue for sportswear by increasing its sneaker offering with the Cloudbust and Prada Block styles, in addition to reissuing its sportswear line, Linea Rossa, in 2018.
