Fashion´s New Year´s Honours List 2016

Natalie Massenet - founder of Net A Porter and chairman of the British Fashion Council - has been awarded a Damehood in the Queen's New Year's Honours list for services to fashion and retail. Actresses Barbara Windsor and Sian Phillips joined Massenet in receiving the honour this year.


Elsewhere in fashion and retail, Jacqueline Gold - the chief executive of Ann Summers and Knickerbox - received a CBE for services to entrepreneurship, women in business and social enterprise; Helen Dickinson, chief executive of the British Retail Consortium, was awarded an OBE; while Alison Lewy - founder of mentoring and funding initiative Fashion Angel - received an MBE.

In entertainment, actress Imelda Staunton received a CBE, while fellow actors Idris Elba, James Nesbitt and David Oyelowo were all awarded OBEs. Blur frontman Damon Albarn was the most notable music-industry name to be honoured, receiving an OBE.
