Will Carrie Bradshaw’s New-Look Wardrobe Incorporate Loungewear?

A week after dropping a Sex and the City reboot teaser on Instagram, Sarah Jessica Parker was seen assisting customers at her New York shoe boutique over the weekend. The star has adopted a unique dress code since the pandemic began, one that includes sweatpants and stilettos – an unusual combination to say the least.

She has worn a pair of Pangaia’s eco-conscious grey tracksuit bottoms on repeat of late, often teamed with her own shoe designs (for her most recent outing, she wore her “hello lover” pumps). To face the chill on her commute, she bundled up in a puffer and adopted the same styling trick Katie Holmes has also favoured this winter: a chic, lightweight under-layer jacket.

Like her on-screen persona Carrie Bradshaw, SJP has an IRL obsession with footwear, and founded her own line in 2014. Last year, she opened her first ever flagship in Midtown, which happened to be the former location of a Manolo Blahnik boutique – a brand she famously championed on the show.

With a new Sex and the City series, And Just Like That… officially in the pipeline, one can only wonder how Carrie’s new outfits will compare to her weird and wonderful looks in the original show. Will SJP be tempted to introduce her new favourite loungewear-and-heels combo into Carrie’s closet? Watch this space.
