Mugler Launches First Bag Collection For Spring Summer 2013

Mugler is launching it's first bag collection for Spring Summer 2013 and in typical Mugler style, the bags are all about structure and geometry. The collection is a mix of different colours and fabrics, including embossed leather, snakeskin, mix metallic calf and rubbed crocodile.

This isn't the first time Nicola Formichetti has got some attention for his bag designs, as back in September he caused some stir with his ´Lady Gaga bum bag.´ We're not talking about that 90´s fashion faux-pas, This bum bag was moulded in the shape of Gaga's pert derriere. You can now purchase your own Gaga inspired bum bag, as the oragami style clutch bag will be on sale in several colours including an animal print, blue, orange and silver.

Creative Director Nicola Formichetti said about the collection: “This is now my 4th collection as creative director of Mugler, and following the evolution of the brand, I was interested in creating sculptured objects in 3D, a piece of the Mugler world that one can carry around, an element that completes the look.”

Mugler (and Gaga fans) will be excited to know that the collection will be available to buy in stores worldwide from February 2013.

Alexa Chung Turns Bond Girl

Alexa has rushed off to the sun with a bag full of leopard print and stripes, friends Grimmy, Pixie Geldof, music manager Aimee Phillips, Theo Hutchcraft from The Hurts and Pixie's fella George Barnett and most importantly her trusty iPhone. Alexa and friends have a first in instagram, and when they jetted off on their christmas jaunt to Puerto Rico they naturally brought us along with them via their instas.

Alexa Chung
The best instagram so far from the hol has to be when Grimmy dressed up  in Alexa´s holiday clothes and copied her effortlessly cool pose on NYE. But we now have even more pictures from their vacay which are giving us a serious case of Alexa Chung wardrobe envy.

Alexa has tried out a new hairstyle for the beach rocking some adorable Heidi plaits - anyone else got the urge to plait their hair, like, right now? The Chung is channelling the ultimate bond girl Ursula Andress with an ultra-glam beach look. She is wearing red lippie on the sand - can you get more Bond girl than that? We hope the folks at James Bond are following @chungalexa and take note of her ah-mazing beach look. Please give us an Alexa Chung James Bond cameo. Please.

Alexa Chung
Alexa's beach look is all about accessories, as she whipped out a pink sparkly bow headband to recline in the sea and wore a pair of statement pale pink sunnies to pose in front of a bright yellow wall. There is also a surfer vibe to her look, as she paired a string shell necklace with her leopard swimsuit.

Alexa Chung And Friend
But they don't only post #whati'mwearing instagrams, as Alexa & co clearly are a fan of the silly holiday snap. The gang took a picture of Pixie reading a book lying on the sand covered in drawings of the male anatomy. How very rude.

Saint Laurent Spring Summer 2013: 70´s Rock ‘N’ Roll Wardrobe

Should Hedi Slimane ever decide to plump for a Plan B career, there’s little doubt he would make a faultless music manager. Hype has been a dirty word in recent seasons – too connected to the implosion of the designer-as-God cult, so irredeemably shattered by Galliano-gate. But that sense of frisson, while arguably anachronistic, brought an definite sense of energy to Hedi Slimane’s debut for YSL at the Grand Palais last month.

Saint Laurent S/S 2013
Cloaked in darkness a frow which included – wait for it – Kate Moss and Jamie Hince, Jessica Chastain, Valérie Trierweiler (France’s First Lady) and Salma Hayek as well as a roll call of designers including Marc Jacobs, Alber Elbaz, Ricardo Tisci, Vivienne Weastwood and Azzedine Alaia were poised to get the first look at the most hotly anticipated collection of the season.

Saint Laurent S/S 2013
The almighty rivalry between Slimane and Raf Simons at Dior – both debuting at major French fashion houses this season, and both with a rep for minimal style - has been the biggest story of PFW thus far. Raf, who was first out on Friday presented a fresh, more feminine take on his spare style signatures, clocking up what has been widely considered as a hit for Dior. So the pressure was on Monsier Slimane to offer his riposte.

Saint Laurent S/S 2013
The Saint Laurent collection this season totally bypassed the prevailing conversion on minimalism harking back instead to the substance-fuelled era of 70s rock ‘n’ roll. While the audience may have been expecting a modern collection of precision tailoring, they were instead treated to the ultimate groupie wardrobe.

Saint Laurent S/S 2013
Fringed suede jackets, Stevie Nicks-esque maxi dresses complete with sheer blouson sleeves, pussy bows and disco-ready blazers – all that was missing was a Rolling Stone on each model’s arm. As for Slimane’s fabled tailoring, skinny but slouch pants were paired with cropped tail jackets and gorgeous bikers. The floor-sweeping hemlines were often matched with billowing full length capes and wide brimmed hats accessorized nearly every look. This silhouette was given a haunting, witchy vibe in the finale as models stalked the catwalk two by two closing the show to the sound of exuberant backstage applause.

While most definitely not a clean slate visionary, Slimane has proved himself a true disciple to Yves Saint Laurent’s legend and created a collection which rocker girls will go mad for. Expect to see that fringed suede jacket coming very shortly to a high street near you.

Back On Top: Kate Moss Bags Givenchy and Versace's Spring 2013 Campaigns

While Kate Moss has never really gone off our radar, there’s no doubt that she’s having a serious stint in the fashion sun right now. Aside from topping the best dressed list of 2012 ahead of Miranda Kerr, Alexa Chung and Kristen Stewart, she’s also snagged some of the season’s hottest campaigns including the latest reveal as one of the faces of Givenchy for Spring Summer 2013.
Kate Moss For Givenchy
Showcasing Mossy’s quintessential coolness, the Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci campaign features Kate in dark glasses and a flounce trimmed gown. But Tisci is only one of the designers who have tapped Kate’s sizzle as she also stars in Versace´s steamy adds and is the face of shoe designer Stuart Weitzman. Interestingly, in both campaigns Kate is rocking a pair of knee high gladiator sandals – set to be the Marmite shoe trend of 2013.

And it’s not just campaigns Kate has been scooping up, with a hattrick of December covers including Vanity Fair, Interview (Germany) and Vogue (Spain) also under her belt.

Chanel's Spring 2013 Campaign Features 16-Year-Old Models & THAT Hula Hoop Bag

Luckily for us post-Christmas penniless mortals, we can indulge in the new season looks thanks to the Spring 2013 advertising campaigns that are gradually dropping in. Mulberry took us under the sea and now Chanel’s offering brings us Karl Lagerfeld's mix of ladylike monochrome and zingy patterns.

Chanel S/S 2013
Most excitingly, we are treated to a glimpse of THAT Hola Hoop bag which caused a right ruckus at the show during Paris Fashion Week in September - although it's the mini and, let’s be honest, more wearable version in red quilt with white handles. Did you know said hula hoop bags are designed to be the perfect practical beach bag because they don’t sink into the sand and the upper loop can be used for drying one’s bikini on?

Chanel S/S 2013
The campaign, which was shot in a Japanese tea room-inspired set, has landed Karl in a spot of controversy, however. The designer chose two 16-year-old models - Ondria Hardin and Yumi Lambert - as campaign stars, alongside one of our favourite raven-haired beauties: Stella Tennant. Though Hardin has been declared by some critics as too young to model the black sheer dress that shows off her underwear accessorised with a sultry red pout, there is absolutely no denying that Yumi’s citrus knit and wavy locks are sweeter than sweet. As for Stella, she sure knows how to rock an elegant shift and swing-coat blazer hybrid, natch. But what do you make of the new campaign?

Anne Hathaway And Valentino In Switzerland For NYE 2012

Well, who would have thought it? Anne Hathaway  spent New Year's Eve walking arm in arm with designer Valentino around Gstaad, Switzerland. The designer invited plenty of A-List guests to his swanky NYE party, including Madonna who, rumour has it, sang a duet with Mr Val. Now that's a rumour we like.

2012 was a special year for the pair who've long been pals. Anne married Adam Shulman in a frothy, sugary pink gown  which was - surprise, surprise - by Valentino and got a dramatic crop for her starring role in Les Miserables. Meanwhile, the designer unveiled a fabulous exhibition of his gowns at Somerset House. 'She's a very good friend of mine, she's like my daughter,' the Italian revealed. Aw!

Anne And Valentino
And it's true. Looking back at this fashionable friendship, these two have been BFFs ever since Valentino first dressed the actress at the Oscars back in 2007. Anne has oft been on the front row at his couture shows in Paris while the designer has even attended her film premieres. In 2009, it was Anne who introduced Valentino when he was inducted into the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style in Beverly Hills.

It certainly helps to have a designer chum to call on when you have to a red carpet shindig or two, so it's hardly surprising to see Anne so frequently swathed in Valentino creations, especially when they work so wonderfully with her ladylike style. Perhaps most memorably, the star wore a red strapless gown for the 2011 Oscars and looked nothing short of a twinkling princess in one of his gowns at the Met Ball in 2010.

Mulberry's Spring 2013 Campaign

For Spring Summer 2013, Mulberry has gone under the sea. The new campaign images have just landed, shot by Tim Walker, and what a treat to see the Brit brand taking their luxe creations to new shores. Pixie-like model Meghan Collison stars as the Mulberry mermaid and can be seen perching on ginormous pastel-coloured coral and posing against baby blue rocks. They've had oodles of fun with the bubble machine too, decorating the images with bouncing, shiny beads.
Meghan Collison For Mulberry
‘This season's campaign was a haze of beautiful colours, the setup complemented the products beautifully,' Emma Hill exclusively told Fashion Television. 'The featured ready-to-wear and accessories showcased new tailoring, fresh shapes, print and our continued dedication to our leather craft heritage.’

Indeed, the surreal shots are given that oh-so-English edge thanks to the coats and capes layered over dresses that we first saw on the catwalk in September. Those retro prints that Florence Welch would LOVE, classic outerwear perfect for Alexa types and leatherwork also make an appearance - and there's that divne Willow Tote.

You'll remember Kate Moss modelled the multi-functional bag at the London Fashion Week show when she told the media she wished it was the ´Moss Bag.´ But despite not having a namesake Mulberry (yet), the Willow has been spotted on the supermodels arm ever since so it's hardly surprising to see it taking centre stage in the campaign. Bag lovers will also be delighted to see the Cecily and Cecily Flower Tote are also given a prime spot, as well as Mulberry’s icon Bayswater in sumptuous Ostrich.
