One image from the campaign captures the ageless star wearing a tulle skirt, Jacobs’s iconic Kiki boots and a long-sleeve top, and clutching a tangerine J Marc shoulder bag that contrasts perfectly with her black mani. Even her hair and make-up are reminiscent of her early days in the spotlight: heavy kohl liner, dark lip and short, choppy raven locks.
Of course, Winona has a longstanding relationship with Marc Jacobs – the designer himself and his eponymous brand – as a “familiar face” and “ultimate muse”. Jacobs teased the collaboration on Instagram days ago, posting a carousel of pictures of Winona in past campaigns – she’s been photographed by David Sims and Juergen Teller for the brand in the past.
Winona is the perfect choice to reflect the youthful aesthetic of the new accessory, which riffs on the popular Stam bag that was first released in the Noughties.
