Osman's Perfect Five

AS far as collaborations go, Osman´s union with The Woolmark Company  and Harvey Nichols is a particularly timely one given the back-to-school theme that is on everyone's sartorial agenda right now. Entitled Perfect Five, the collection (which forms a part of the Knightsbridge department store's month-long celebration of The Art of Style) comprises five trouser designs taken from the brand's archive.

Famous for his precision tailoring, London-based Osman Yousefzada has chosen to recreate the straight-leg Lauren from autumn/winter 2011; the high-waisted and cropped Taylor, taken from his pre-spring/summer 2014 collection; the Lupita, a pair of classic culottes that appeared in his pre-spring/summer 2015 show; the slouchy, wide-leg Bianca from his autumn/winter 2013 outing; and the Paloma, a breezy palazzo pant in lace and satin-triacetate, created especially for the new capsule collection.

"When designing my main objective is always to flatter the female form and to enhance it and I have always felt that a great trouser cut can really do wonders and completely transform a woman's look," said Yousefzada.

The exclusive collection is available in store and online now, priced between £295 and £495, and Harvey Nichols's buying director, Anita Barr, is confident of its success.

"We are delighted to be working exclusively with Osman on this project and to be able to offer our customers the best edit of trousers for the season ahead," she said. "We know the Harvey Nichols woman is looking for directional styles that offer both comfort and effortless style; to be working with the master of both is really exciting for our brand."
