Underneath Their Clothes: The Cruz Sisters’ Lingerie

Penelope Cruz  and her sister, Monica Cruz, have designed their debut lingerie line for Agent Provocateur - and we have it to show you in full for the first time. The L'Agent collection goes on sale today.

"The relationship is very family-orientated, Monica modelled for the autumn/winter 2012-13 campaign - and when shooting the campaign she mentioned their interest in creating a line," explained Agent Provocateur creative director Sarah Shotton. "After that initial chat, two weeks later we were in full conversation and started designing the collection. They are really involved and really part of the family."

The debut L'Argent collection features a selection of bra and brief sets, suspenders, basques and babydolls, in silk, satin, lace and Point d'esprit tulle. Each piece has been given a Spanish girl's name.

"Penelope and Monica worked fully from collecting sample swathes and colour ways and, working on shapes they liked and things that would work for them," Shotton told us. "They were fully involved in the fits and trying on the collection from the initial design stage."

To coincide with the launch of the range, Penelope directed an accompanying campaign video - starring her husband, Javier Bardem, and model Irina Shayak.

"Penelope mentioned that she wanted to direct the film from day one. We all wanted the collection to appeal to lots of women of all shapes and sizes so she incorporated that into the campaign," said Shotton. "The film was mainly Penelope's baby which I think really reflects in the final edit."

The L'Agent collection is no one-off project: the ongoing partnership is expected to last at least five years. Prices for the accessible collection range from £18 for a brief to £145 for a corset.

"We felt that you need to do more than one collection in order to create the best design and collection as lingerie can be so complicated," added Shotton. "It's nice to have a different approach and to work on a collaboration in a fun and girly collection that will appeal to a bigger audience. Working with the girls is like working with your friends which is very special."

The L'Agent collection goes on sale today, with stockists including Net-A-Porter, Selfridges, House of Fraser, Harrods, John Lewis and Harvey Nichols.
