The Queen Stars In New M&S Campaign

Marks & Spencer has declined to comment on reports this morning that Dame Helen Mirren  is its new campaign star. The actress - famed for her portrayal of the Queen both on stage and on film - has reportedly been photographed by Annie Leibovitz for the adverts.

Mirren was seen taking part in a shoot in London's St Katharine's Docks on Sunday, alongside philanthropist and presenter Katie Piper - who was the victim of an attack in 2008, in which sulphuric acid was thrown in her face - also believed to be starring in the campaign.

If true, the move would see the pair following the likes of Rosie Huntington - Whitely  Ryan Reynolds, Twiggy and David Gandy  in modelling for the high street store.
