“I’ve sort of grown up with the brand,” the London girl told Vogue before the presentation. That’s not just a turn of phrase: Kate Moss famously designed a collection of bags for Longchamp in 2010. “It makes me feel confident, and it’s always chic.” The 17 year old opted to wear a knitted cream turtleneck under a black suede pinafore-style dress from the house’s autumn/winter 2020 collection for the event – with patent leather hiking boots giving the prim look a hint of edge. Under her arm? The house’s first It bag, the Longchamp 1980 – revived by Delafontaine specifically for the collection.
Another reason Lila loves the brand? “I feel like it fits every age,” she explains. “When me and my mum wear it together, she wears something and I wear something, and we both feel comfortable in it.” Case in point: Lila’s debut on the front row alongside Kate for the brand’s spring/summer 2020 presentation at NYFW last September. While Lila wore a mint-green smocked top and skirt from the collection, Kate selected a knee-length black dress cinched at the waist. Mother-daughter dressing at its finest.
