Having worked alongside artists like A$AP Rocky, Charli XCX, Lil Nas X, and many more, Skrzypczak is experienced in creative direction of an overall brand identity, live show design, experiential art, and interior design. Tapped by Fenty to create the pop-up, the artist collaborated on the project with Fenty's Deputy Creative Director, Jahleel Weaver, and Dark Matter Technologies.
By incorporating Fenty's utilitarian approach to fashion into an artistic experience, the pop-up brings an interactive space to the department store. Visitors are invited to take part in the art, seeing themselves projected on massive LED screens on the iconic Bergdorf windows. Skrzypczak was inspired by classic luxury cars, covering the space from top to bottom with blue velvet walls as graphic white marble and vibrant carpet flooring is splashed across the floor. Fenty accessories and boots are displayed on bespoke marble fixtures, with glowing perspex shelves and cases adding a futuristic element.
Meanwhile, Fenty's Release 2-20 collection embodies a sense of freedom and creativity, showcasing a variety of luxurious, casual clothing, from vibrant denim windbreakers to burnt orange bomber jackets. The collection's color scheme contrasts with Skrzypczak's velvety blue retail space, creating a dynamic, futuristic look.
