Sat at a baby grand piano which is gradually submerged over the course of the song, Harry strokes the keys wearing a Gucci chiffon lilac gown which sports accordion pleats and a dramatic train, and flared brown trousers. As the room fills with water, the gown goes from trailing behind him on the floor to eventually floating high above his head.
The look for the video blends everything that is signature about Harry’s wardrobe: the lilac dress points to his ability to blur gender boundaries and shows off his impressive number of tattoos, while the addition of the trousers still manages to honour his way with tailoring. Soft-focus, close-up shots offer a close-up view of his talismanic rings.
The Gucci look was first seen at the brand’s September showcase. As his stylist, Harry Lambert, told Miss Vogue, it is likely that the look has been bookmarked since then. “We have a meeting after every show, where the [Gucci] design team talk us through the new collection,” he said. “This is where myself and Harry make an initial selection [of looks we like], it’s important that we give him the opportunity to try everything on before we confirm what it is we want.” This one obviously more than passed the HS try-on test. This ethereal look was the perfect visual accompaniment to the emotional track that sees Harry bare his soul and give his most impressive vocal performance yet. We can’t wait to see what the singer has planned for his upcoming tour.
