Mario Testino To Photograph Princess Charlotte's Baptism

Mario Testino will photograph Princess Charlotte at her baptism this weekend, Kensington Palace confirmed today. The Vogue favourite - who took the first official photographs of prince William and the Duchess of cambridge following their engagement in 2012 - said today he was "honoured" to have been asked.

"I am overwhelmed and honoured to be chosen to document this occasion and to carry on the documentation of the family that is the soul of this country, a country that has given me so much," he said today.

The Peruvian photographer - whose photograph first appeared on the Vogue cover in 1993 - will take the official photographs of the christening party following the Princess's baptism on Sunday, including the as-yet-unannounced godparents.

"The Duke and Duchess are delighted that Mario Testino will help capture this important moment for their family and look forward to sharing the photographs with the public," a spokesperson for Kensington Palace added. As well as previously photographing the royal couple, Testino has also captured the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry, and Diana, Princess of Wales.
