MAC - owned by Estée Lauder, which already boasts Jenner´s daughter Kendall as a campaign star - is the frontrunner, with Page Six reporting that the company has already had "several high-level meetings over the past few months" with the reality television star and former Olympian. The company has previously enlisted drag queen RuPaul, as well as other stars - including Ricky Martin, Beth Ditto, Elton John, Miss Piggy, KD Lang, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj - who epitomise its inclusive ethos: "All ages, all races, all sexes."
Perhaps slightly overwhelmed by her newfound style idol status, Jenner tweeted "What the hell am I going to wear?" yesterday, accompanied by a link to a statement revealing that she will receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2015 ESPY Awards in mid-July. In her Vanity Fair photoshoot, she wore designs by several classic New York labels - including Zac Posen, Badgley Mischka and Donna Karan - but some of the fashion world's biggest names could also be interested in featuring the star.
Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci is a close friend of Jenner's stepdaughter Kim Kardashian and her husband Kanye West (even creating their wedding outfits), and has been a vocal advocate for LGBTQ rights, casting transgender model Lea T, his long-time friend, as the face of his previous campaigns. Marc Jacobs, also a LGBTQ supporter, is famous for enlisting the most talked-about person of the moment to star in his campaigns, with previous stars including a pre-design-career Victoria Beckham, newly controversial Miley Cyrus, and Winona Ryder immediately following her shoplifting charge (for allegedly stealing Marc Jacobs clothing).
Jenner may be used to Olympic-level competitions, but when the bidding starts to secure her services as a style ambassador the games will really begin.
