Rosalía Is Jacquemus’s Latest FaceTime Muse

Rosalía is the latest muse to feature in Jacquemus’s FaceTime photoshoot series. Hot on the heels of virtually orchestrated editorials with Bella Hadid, Barbie Ferreira and Steve Lacy, the singer has appeared on the French brand’s feed. The Spanish star styled herself in Jacquemus’s painted shirt, worn unbuttoned over underwear, for the brand’s most recent off the cuff at-home campaign shoot.

The results were shared on Jacquemus’s Instagram account, in a post that revealed designer Simon Porte Jacquemus was inspired by the countryside in his native South of France and the work of the artist Cézanne when creating Rosalía’s paint daubed shirt. The singer reposted the images on her own Instagram feed, where her fellow IG shoot model Bella Hadid was among those complimenting the look.

Rosalía, who has shared a string of fashionable outfits while in quarantine, has a penchant for cult French labels. In one Instagram clip the singer can be seen wearing a printed long-sleeve top from Marine Serre while eating microwave popcorn. One of the singer’s go-to designers, Marine Serre has also caught the eye of Kylie Jenner and Beyoncé – both have sported skin-tight bodysuits emblazoned with its unmistakeable lunar print.

Jacquemus is beloved by celebrities and fashion editors alike, and is almost unrivalled in its Instagram appeal. Its Le Chiquito micro bag reached viral status when Lizzo wore one to the AMAs in 2019, while its vast La Bomba straw hat was the talking point of summer 2018, seen on everyone from Rihanna to Ariana Grande to Bella Hadid. And who could forget the brand’s magical spring/summer 2020 runway show? Models sauntered along a hot-pink al fresco runway flanked on either side by lavender fields for its 10th anniversary celebration in Provence, and stars including Emily Ratajkowski were among those making the most of the photo opportunities.

Jacquemus’s Instagram feed successfully marries covetable pieces with lush visuals and an irreverent, tongue in cheek approach. Whether its a “which bag are you?” snap or a lockdown mood pic of a croissant bra (courtesy of artist Nicole McLaughlin), this millennial designer knows how to generate likes.
