The Mayo - The Merrier

Winter is known for many things.Cold, dark and grey colours everywhere you look.Unless, you are fortunate enough  to encounter a fashion label called Mayo, we recently discovered during our time at the Autumn & Winter 2013 edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion Week.

Mayo
Mayo, is the brainchild of  Cork born Julie O´Connell, a graduate from the prestigious Limerick School of Art and Design where she successfully completed a BA (Honours) degree in fashion design, then saw her securing internships with Michail Gkinis (Tokyo), Dr Noki (London) and Krizia Robustella (Barcelona).

Mayo Collection : 2012 / 2013
´I like to think of my collection of the flawless fusion of casual meets couture´ Julie explained to us from her prime position within the Barcelona Fashion Week village.

As well as producing new garments every season, Julie also aims to customise existing vintage garments, to revitalise the credibility and impact of the piece.Working closely with top vintage boutique ´Miss Daisy Blue´ vintage garments in Cork, Julie already has an outstanding array of  pieces to present  to her growing army of fans, in  both Europe and Japan.

Mayo: 2013 Look Book
There is no doubt 2013 will present the luck o´ the Irish to the European fashion market in full force. Julie´s current expanison into couture pieces and accessorisation has seen her secure places at both Barcelona and Milan fashion weeks for Spring & Summer 2014 runway shows.
