Chanel's Spring 2013 Campaign Features 16-Year-Old Models & THAT Hula Hoop Bag

Luckily for us post-Christmas penniless mortals, we can indulge in the new season looks thanks to the Spring 2013 advertising campaigns that are gradually dropping in. Mulberry took us under the sea and now Chanel’s offering brings us Karl Lagerfeld's mix of ladylike monochrome and zingy patterns.

Most excitingly, we are treated to a glimpse of THAT Hola Hoop bag which caused a right ruckus at the show during Paris Fashion Week in September - although it's the mini and, let’s be honest, more wearable version in red quilt with white handles. Did you know said hula hoop bags are designed to be the perfect practical beach bag because they don’t sink into the sand and the upper loop can be used for drying one’s bikini on?

The campaign, which was shot in a Japanese tea room-inspired set, has landed Karl in a spot of controversy, however. The designer chose two 16-year-old models - Ondria Hardin and Yumi Lambert - as campaign stars, alongside one of our favourite raven-haired beauties: Stella Tennant. Though Hardin has been declared by some critics as too young to model the black sheer dress that shows off her underwear accessorised with a sultry red pout, there is absolutely no denying that Yumi’s citrus knit and wavy locks are sweeter than sweet. As for Stella, she sure knows how to rock an elegant shift and swing-coat blazer hybrid, natch. But what do you make of the new campaign?
