Louis Vuitton is going to war with Warner Bros: suing the entertainment giant for profits from it recent blockbuster sequel The Hangover Part II, for using fake copies of its bags in the film. Despite requests by the luxury label to not feature counterfeit bags - created by Diophy which is also being sued - the fake Louis Vuitton luggage appeared in a scene filmed at the airport.
"Careful, that is a Louis Vuitton," Zach Galifianakis' eccentric character, Alan, quips as he carries an imitation of the brand's bags, reports WWD. The character mispronounces the French label, and although a joke lies in the fact that he is an unlikely candidate to possess an authentic Louis Vuitton bag, the luxe company argues it is a misrepresentation of its product which will lead to "consumer confusion".
Louis Vuitton wants all copies of The Hangover Part II removed from sale as well as profits from the film - which has taken over $581 million worldwide.
