Ganni's New Matchesfashion.com Capsule Taps Into Our Obsession With Horoscopes

Leopard is a constant in Ganni’s print offering, but, this season, the beloved Scandi brand, which recently made waves among celebrity festival goers at Coachella, has introduced a new pattern to its repertoire. Creative director Ditte Reffstrup has become obsessed with astrology, and Matchesfashion.com has coaxed her into making a collection exploring horoscope motifs.

“I’ve always loved the mystery of astrology – this idea that somehow everything in the universe is connected with the stars, the moon, the sun, and to us,” Reffstrup tells Vogue exclusively of the capsule. Leopard lovers needn’t worry about a hiatus from the animal print, because Reffstrup has fused the two on select pieces in the 13-piece edit. “Leopard is my version of an LBD, so we wanted to have some fun with it and experiment,” she continues. “I’ve seen a lot of leopard recently, so mixing it up with the cosmic print and sky-blue colour scheme gives it a fresh take for summer – something a little unexpected.”

The tiered ruffle sundresses – “you can wear them on the beach and to the bar” – are the designer’s favourite pieces, as well as the signature Ganni silhouettes that she has revitalised with the playful print selection, which also comprises micro checks. “The flashes of colour and prairie gingham bring true summer vibes,” she says of the shirt dresses.

Londoners patiently waiting for Ganni's Soho store to open can browse the “Sun, Moon & You” collection within an exhibition space at 5 Carlos Place, the Matchesfashion.com townhouse, from April 30 to May 4. Global fans, meanwhile, can fill their virtual baskets from 11am on the launch day. “I think the bold prints bring a new energy for the new season, which is perfect for the fashion-forward Matchesfashion.com customer and the Vogue reader.” If you needed any convincing, that is.
