Alexa Chung Is Launching An “Original, Unfiltered” YouTube Channel

First Victoria Beckham and Naomi Campbell, now Derek Blasberg has got a new British recruit for his fashion and beauty YouTube empire: Alexa Chung. The multi-hyphenate’s channel promises to share the people, places and experiences that inspire her as an individual and a designer, and her quest to constantly learn and educate herself on all manner of subjects, from the comfort of her own sofa.

First up on May 7, Chung will give her followers a behind-the-scenes look at the custom dress she created for the Met Gala 2019. The series will then span travel guides, make-up tutorials and a curator’s tour of the Royal Academy’s summer exhibition, as the platform grows to become “the new home of original, unfiltered content”.

“Alexa is one of my favourite people,” says Blasberg of his hire. “Of course, she’s stylish, but she’s also quirky, witty, and has a unique perspective on just about everything. When I came to YouTube, she was one of the first people I thought of to be a partner, and I can’t wait to see what she does with us.”

The teaser video, featuring a brass band and a bemused Chung on that aforementioned sofa, sets the barometer of the tone in the episodes to come. “I’m fashionably late to this YouTube party but... it’s back on with Alexa Chung,” she notes, before adding, “Ewww sorry for that last bit,” in typically self-deprecating fashion. Tune in on May 7 for Vogue’s exclusive coverage of Chung’s Met red-carpet look, as well as signing up to see the contributing editor’s vlogger debut.
