Reformation And By Far Collaborate On A Capsule Collection Of Sustainable Shoes

The words “conscious” and “covetable” shouldn’t be estranged, but sustainable fashion has been tarred with a hemp-heavy brush in the past. Brands such as US-based Reformation have been quietly, but resolutely, changing this. In the last year alone, it has given its ethical message a global boost through European retail outlets, collaborations with secondhand clothing sites and new product categories that show the possibilities of green clothing production.

For its latest project, founder Yael Aflalo has teamed up with Bulgarian footwear brand By Far on six shoes styles. From the lace-up Becca boots to the tie-side Maya heels, each of the $415 to $530 edit is made from deadstock leather. And if the words “cult capsule collection” aren’t enough to get consumers’ hearts racing, the brands’ combined customer fanbase (influencer and model heavy) will.

With the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Lily Aldridge backing them, this is a collaboration with legs. Here’s hoping the sustainability message makes strides – towards the UK, too.
