You Can Buy Riccardo Tisci's First Burberry Design Today

Surprise! Riccardo Tisci has unveiled the first piece from the new series of 24-hour product releases he has implemented as chief creative officer of Burberry. And you can buy it today.

Fingers at the ready – the black Thomas Burberry Monogram logo T-shirt, which the Italian designer models in his Insta selfie, will be available for 24 hours exclusively via Instagram and WeChat from 12pm. If you manage to secure one via scrolling on social, you'll be in good company. Rihanna, Matt Smith and Lily James have all populated their Instagrams with candid snaps of themselves wearing the tee and hoodie version of the drop.

The next limited-edition capsule release is just days away. Shortly after Tisci presents his debut collection for the British heritage brand at London Fashion Week on September 17, a selection of designs will be available to purchase via Instagram, WeChat and in the brand's flagship store from 5.30pm. The 121 Regent Street site, which has received a complete visual overhaul, will be the only physical place in the world to house this 24-hour collection.

On Monday the brand announced that Tisci’s Burberry debut will be available 30 minutes after the spring/summer 2019 show, which is the first time the 162-year-old company has created a bespoke digital selling experience for social media channels exclusively. Tisci understands how a young generation of fashion fans want to dress – and, more importantly, shop – and he's harnessing it in a way that shows yet again he has a real grasp of how the luxury landscape is evolving.
