Beyoncé Champions Riccardo Tisci For Burberry On Tour

When news came out in March that Riccardo Tisci would take over the creative reins at Burberry, replacing Christopher Bailey, imaginations ran wild about the creations he would churn out. Tisci, who was the creative director at Givenchy for over a decade, would likely offer a drastically different Burberry, and he has already begun to do so with a total revamp of the house logo. In July, Vogue contributing editor Naomi Campbell stepped out wearing a new Burberry cape coat by Tisci, and yesterday the designer had his second major celebrity moment: a custom-designed ensemble for Beyoncé's On the Run II world tour.

Taking to the stage in New Jersey this weekend, the singer wore a Burberry bodysuit, cropped jacket, and thigh-high boots made in the label's vintage check pattern. To add a theatrical touch, she also wore sunglasses in the same iconic print. The ensemble is already a departure for Burberry. Previously, the print had most often been seen on trenches and rain coats, but has recently been reinterpreted in a streetwear-inspired manner. This isn't the first time Beyoncé has unleashed a high-fashion moment for her tour: In July, she was also spotted wearing a autumn/winter 2018 Valentino couture gown that was fresh off the Paris runway.
